What if there is an emergency? A medical emergency is defined as a serious medical condition resulting from injury or sickness, which arises suddenly and requires immediate care and treatment, including relief of acute pain, to avoid extended or permanent physical impairment or loss of life. If you face such a medical emergency, you should seek immediate attention at the closest medical facility. If possible, your personal physician should be contacted prior to seeking emergency care. After receiving care, your personal physician should be contacted to arrange for any necessary follow-up services, since Emergency Room follow-up care is not a covered benefit if received within an Emergency Room setting.

How do I select a physician?
Review the Participating Provider Directory. Your personal physician may already be a MedNet provider and you or your family can continue to see this physician(s) by scheduling appointments as in the past. Be sure to advise your physician that coverage is now provided through MedNet on behalf of your Insurance Company. Always show your MedNet I.D. card to your physician, so that payments for covered services can be made directly to him or her. You may see any participating physician in the MedNet network without a referral.

What payment is due for prescription drugs? You must pay your applicable prescription drug benefit co-payment and/or co-insurance at the time you get your service. The remainder of the cost will be billed directly to your Insurance Company via MedNet by the pharmacy. As mentioned previously, MedNet has contracts with pharmacies to help you get your medications with a special discount. If you decide not to use the network, then you should submit the claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. Of course, the reimbursement for using non-network might be less than MedNet network.

What to do if I become sick abroad? If your plan provides coverage outside of the country in which the policy was issued, you should contact the Medical Claims Center (MCC) in Amman, Jordan at phone number +962-6-5699071.

Remember that all provisions, exclusions and limitations of the base contract apply to any international claim.

What should I do if either my doctor or I disagree with the prior authorization or claim payment decision that MedNet has made? You should follow the steps outlined in the Appeal and Complaint Resolution Process as specified in the Member Handbook.
